A FREE SHOWING OF THE FBI MOVIE “A REVOLUTIONARY ACT” & WORKSHOP ABOUT RECOGNIZING PATHWAYS TO VIOLENT EXTREMISM

November 1, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Law, security and safety professionals, you’re invited to a free showing of the FBI documentary ‘A Revolutionary Act,’ PLUS a workshop taught by the FBI about recognizing pathways to violent extremism.

In this 2.5 hour event in a United Artists movie theater, you’ll watch the 35-minute documentary and learn from FBI behavioral analysts and domestic terrorism agents about spotting behaviors that lead to acts of targeted and intended violence. The workshop will teach you how to detect key planing behaviors and aid in prevention efforts.

The documentary provides the audience with a first-hand account of the impact of violent extremism on a law enforcement agency and the community it serves. The movie demonstrates how grievances may manifest into bias, hatred, and intolerance, culminating in the progression along a violent pathway. It also demonstrates the critical role of bystanders in preventing future violence and how concerning behaviors, communications and observations are key in stopping an act of intended violence.
